I'm Chocolate, You're Vanilla...

I am reading an excellent book. Well, I am actually reading several excellent books.  Adoption Parenting and The Connected Child are so very eye-opening and informative. I will admit to reading parts of each book and thinking to myself..."wow, we have many miles left to travel as adoptive parents...I should stock up on sleep now!!"  I also discovered another book on Amazon that I find to be truly enlightening called I'm Chocolate, You're Vanilla: Raising Healthy Black and Biracial Children in a Race-Conscious World by Marguerite Wright.  I am so glad I love to read because we, as a family built through the spirit of adoption, have much too learn. We are truly blessed to have books like these to facilitate that learning process.

  1. I just ordered "I'm Chocolate Your Vanilla" from Amazon the other day! And "The Connected Child" is next on my list! As first time parents (and a lover of reading), I am currently reading "Parenting with Love and Logic." Good thus far! Happy Reading! :)
